Biography
Teresa Schiller focuses on business law and strategy, business succession planning, employment counsel, estate planning and trusts, and probate and guardianship administration. She advises business owners, fiduciaries, and families across Texas on complex matters requiring careful analysis, discretion, and practical judgment.
A native Texan, Teresa graduated from Rice University and received her law degree from University of Chicago Law School. Following law school, she worked in the federal judiciary, clerking for a United States court of appeals judge and a United States district court judge. Teresa is licensed to practice law in Texas, New York, and the District of Columbia. Earlier in her career, she practiced in New York, representing clients in complex matters and developing a multi-jurisdictional perspective that informs her work today. She currently focuses her practice in Texas and represents clients in state and federal courts.
In addition to her client work, Teresa has served in leadership roles within the legal profession. She served as chair of the State Bar of Texas Women and the Law Section and held leadership positions within New York women’s bar associations. She also served as associate executive director of the New York State Bar Association. Following September 11, she coordinated legal volunteers assisting small businesses in New York City.
